What happens when a career spent formulating colour becomes a practice devoted to creating with it? Avant Garde welcomes _**Mila Susak**_ with _**Formulated**_, an exhibition of paintings and sculpture shaped by an extraordinary intersection of art and science. Before turning her focus to the studio, Susak spent her career in cosmetic research and development, including as the former Head of R&D for MAC cosmetics Canada engineering the pigments, textures and formulas through which millions expressed themselves. Now, the scientist becomes the artist. Formulated brings those worlds together. Material becomes medium. Experimentation becomes expression. Colour, once engineered, is set free. Avant Garde has always existed as a meeting place for different disciplines, ideas and people. With Formulated, those worlds don’t simply meet—they become inseparable. **October 25 · 5-8 PM Avant Garde Gallery** Join us for opening night + create your own custom shades at our DIY lip balm station
