Gustavo Gimeno, conductor Charles Richard-Hamelin, piano Steven Woomert, trumpet Program: Gubaidulina: Fairytale Poem Shostakovich: Concerto for Piano, Trumpet, and String Orchestra Mozart: Symphony No. 39, K. 543 Gustavo Gimeno leads a spellbinding program, from the shadowy magic of Sofia Gubaidulina's Fairytale Poem to the sly humour of Shostakovich's Concerto for Piano, Trumpet, and String Orchestra, featuring pianist Charles Richard-Hamelin and TSO Principal Trumpet Steven Woomert. Mozart's Symphony No. 39 rounds out the concert with youthful brilliance, sparkle, and grace.
