FortisBC funded a pilot Deep Energy Retrofit (DERet) project installed at the The Pendrelllis is a 13-storey, 87-suite multi-unit residential social housing building for eligible seniors. The DERet pilot aimed to achieve at least a 50% reduction in natural gas consumption through a combination of building envelope and mechanical system upgrades. 🔎 This tour is an opportunity to see technologies including • Comprehensive insulation and glazing upgrades • In-suite heat recovery ventilators • Cooling provisions • Gas absorption heat pumps • Make-up air controls • Building automation systems • Substantial reductions in gas consumption and GHG emissions • improving the facility comfort and resiliency The 1-hour guided tour will be led by project consultant Eric Mazzi, P.Eng., PhD, of MAZZI Consulting and Joe Hildebrandt, P.Eng., of RDH Building Science Inc. , followed by time for questions, discussion, and networking with professionals working in energy efficiency, building performance, and sustainability.
