PHC Annual Ethics Seminar April 26-29 & Conference April 30 Welcome to the PHC Annual Health Ethics Seminar happening at Hotel Willo (Fomerly YWCA Hotel Vancouver) from April 26-29, 2027 and then for the Health Ethics Conference on April 30, 2027 at the Morris J Wosk Centre for Dialogue all taking place in beautiful downtown Vancouver, BC, Canada The 4-day intensive health ethics seminar & 1-day conference (5-days total) aims to empower participants to navigate clinical/medical ethical dilemmas in health care by employing an interactive and case-based methodology. During seminar, you will be actively enged in a small-group learning environment where you'll cover foundational bioethical topics including: • The history of biomedical ethics and ethical decision making approaches • Respect for persons and respect for autonomy, capacity, and informed consent • Substitute/surrogate decision making, substituted judgment and the best interests standard • Involuntary treatment • Health ethics and the law • Ethical issues at early life and end of life • Ethical considerations for intervening when there are risks of harm to self and to others • And more!
