Meet Your Facilitator Dr. Bahar Memarian Dr. Bahar Memarian is an AI researcher, educator, and specialist in human systems engineering with expertise spanning Artificial Intelligence, Human Factors, Engineering Education, and systems involving humans and AI. Her work focuses on helping professionals move beyond simply using AI toward designing workflows, decision systems, and practical workplace applications enabled by AI. PhD, Human Factors & Engineering Education | MASc & BASc, Electrical Engineering | University of Toronto Meet Your Guest Speaker Aheri Stanford Asiyo Software Engineer, Technology Consultant & Educator Aheri Stanford Asiyo specializes in translating emerging technologies into practical, real world solutions. She spent eight years as a staff engineer at Microsoft Vancouver, helping build Dynamics 365 Guides, the holographic training app that won a Vancouver UX Award, from prototype to production. She then focused on building agentic applications and applications powered by AI that demonstrate responsible, secure practices that respect privacy across industries. Previously, Aheri was a Senior Software Engineer and Associate Manager at Accenture’s Liquid Studio Silicon Valley, where she prototyped applications using emerging technologies for Fortune 500 clients and rapidly growing startups, led agile development workshops, and completed applied machine learning coursework through Columbia University Online. Aheri earned her bachelor’s degree at Hollins University and began her career as a civil servant in Washington, DC, protecting advanced U.S. government technology in North America and abroad. Alongside her industry work, she has taught JavaScript to adult learners, led community workshops on responsible technology practices, and facilitated sessions on solving algorithms for Women Who Code.
