Third Space: September Gathering

This month at Third Space, we’re exploring how the places around us can help build belonging, connection, and more engaged neighbourhoods. We’ll hear from Community Marks - the team that led the Grandview-Woodland Community Mural Project - about how they brought neighbours together through storytelling, reflection, and collective art to activate a public space in a way that reflects the community around it. Together, we’ll explore the kind of public spaces we want to be part of, hear about what it takes to create them, and get a little creative ourselves with a collective art project. And, as always, there’ll be plenty of time to hang out, enjoy homebaked treats, and spend an evening in community. To help contribute to gathering costs and keep Third Space running, select a contribution ticket. Spaces are limited to keep the gathering connective. Note: We've moved to the third Wednesday of this month to ensure that Indigenous-led events take the focus on September 30th. We’ll be back to the last Wednesday of the month in October. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________ About the venue: This gathering is held at St. Mary Magdalene Church, who generously donate their space. Please note this event is not run by the church and is not faith-based. The space is wheelchair accessible, with gender neutral washrooms. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________ About Third Space: We host monthly gatherings that bring people together across ages and backgrounds to connect, have genuine conversations, and build community in Vancouver, BC. We're intentional about creating a warm, welcoming and connective 'third space' (places outside of home and work/school to be around community) where there's no networking pressure or phone scrolling - just good people and thoughtful chats. Each gathering explores a theme that sparks meaningful conversation - like how to meet your neighbours in a big city or how food brings people together.
