Cyanotypes: Sunprinted Photography

Learn the cyanotype printing process, a non-silver alternative photography/printing technique originally developed to create blueprints! Cyanotype printing is a simple process that allows for lots of experimentation, and can be layered with other types of printmaking and photography processes to create intricate, dynamic images. We'll play with the different materials that can be printed on and create our own prints. We will learn about the different ways to make negatives, as well as contact printing with objects. Students will leave this workshop with prints to keep, as well as a zine explaining the steps in detail so they can make more at home! This class is taught by Alchemy staff member and artist Katey Rissi. This class is held in the Art Barn at our Field Campus at 45 Hawthorne Lane. Registration: Please register early if you are able, as it helps us to assure that classes meet their minimums in order to run! If you register more than three weeks before this class begins, a 20% early bird discount will automatically be applied to your ticket at checkout. A Note on Ticket Pricing: We are offering sliding scale tickets in order to keep our classes accessible to as many community members as possible. There are three price tiers. Sustaining tickets help us continue to invest in programming. Full price tickets cover the costs associated with running classes.
