Inner Flame: Sharanjeet Singh Mand, Sitar | Victoria

An intimate evening of Indian classical sitar with tabla accompaniment in Wood Hall at the Victoria Conservatory of Music. Inner Flame is an evening of Indian classical music with sitarist Sharanjeet Singh Mand, a sitar concert with tabla accompaniment. Rooted in the raga tradition, the music opens quietly and meditatively, then gradually builds in rhythm and intensity. It is an invitation to slow down and listen inward. No knowledge of Indian classical music is needed. Just come as you are. About the artist Sharanjeet Singh Mand was named to CBC Music’s 30 Under 30. He was the first Indian classical musician to perform a solo set on the JUNO Awards stage, and he has performed for the Prime Ministers of Canada and India. A disciple of Pandit Dr. Harvinder Sharma, he brings a deep lineage to every performance.
