Full description from organizer

An in-person forum conversation on the state of domestic violence in Manitoba. 2026 Forum Conversation on the State of Domestic Violence in Manitoba Join us on November 13, 2026 at 6:00 PM CST for an important in-person discussion held at 62 Hargrave St. This event is part of Domestic Violence Awareness Month and aims to address the current state of domestic violence in Manitoba. This forum provides a valuable opportunity to engage with community members and stakeholders on this critical issue. In 2025, Manitoba recorded the highest Violent Crime Severity Index among Canadian provinces. Nationally, 41% of women and girls who were victims of homicide were killed by a spouse or intimate partner. Behind every statistic is a life. A family. A survivor. A community carrying the impact. This forum is about more than raising awareness. It is about asking difficult questions: What are survivors still facing? Where are our systems falling short? How can law enforcement, service providers, government, faith communities and the public work together more effectively? And what must Manitoba do differently? We are inviting survivors, families, advocates, community organizations, the Winnipeg Police Service, Manitoba Status of Women, service providers, faith leaders, policymakers and concerned Manitobans to be part of this conversation. Friday, November 13, 2026 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM CT 62 Hargrave Street, Winnipeg FREE — Registration required BTSDV was founded by survivors, for survivors. Come listen. Come learn. Come contribute. Because silence protects violence — but courageous conversations can create change. Our courage must be louder than their fear.
