What began with the work of Dr. Gordon Neufeld has grown into a global movement serving families, caregivers, educators and professionals in 148 countries. To mark the anniversary, Neufeld faculty around the world are offering presentations in their own communities. What do children truly need to grow into who they were meant to be? Dr. Gordon Neufeld describes four essential developmental needs: the need to attach, to feel, to rest and to play. When these needs are met, children grow in independence while staying secure in their relationships. When something gets in the way, we often see it as big emotions, meltdowns, or a child who seems to push us away.
