A New Chapter

A New Chapter Living history between Estonia and Germany How does history shape our lives - and how can we shape its next chapter? Our new conversation series at the Werkschule brings together people whose life stories connect Germany and Estonia. We explore intertwined histories, war and displacement, but also new beginnings, hope and growing together. These conversations also concern our shared democratic future: mutual understanding, exchange on equal terms and solidarity in the face of the far right and social division. Because we all have a part in writing the next chapter. Our first guest in our new conversation series: Jörn Frenzel An architect, designer and photographer, Jörn teaches as Professor of Service Design at the Estonian Academy of Arts. He will share insights into his multifaceted German-Baltic life and family history. Alongside the conversation, he will exhibit a photographic series exploring family as a driving force for journeys, encounters and connections across cultures. 🗓 Saturday, 24 October 2026 🕓 4 - 6 pm 📍 Werkschule, Berlin Members, friends of the German-Estonian Society and everyone curious to learn more are warmly welcome. Join us to listen, ask questions and take part in the conversation!
