Mariama - The Mo(u)rning Star EP release show + Baaba J

Never defined by genre. Never confined by borders. A Fulani nomad by blood, Afropean by nature — Mariama is what happens when Freetown, Berlin, the Fouta Djallon, Cologne, Paris, alongside Czech and Norwegian ancestry stop being separate places and become one voice. Her sonic world pulls folk, soul, pop, and beat production into conversation with West African rhythms and instrumentation. Her new songs go local and global: Berlin based producer and multi-iinstrumentalist Lucy Liebe, producer and arranger Mya Audrey who used to tour with the late Glen Hansard; composer Gosto from Amsterdam, Congolese-Angolan producer J-JD from Cologne; Tunisian producer BLmadeit; Lagos-based band BANTU - every song is a new connection that she builds as intentionally as she writes songs. New music from Mariama is out 🎶 Give it a listen, and if it moves you, buy the track. Every purchase goes straight to supporting an independent artist 💛 https://mariama-music.bandcamp.com
