Have you ever wandered, lost, in the wine aisle of the supermarket, desperately trying to find a good bottle for dinner? Do you still wonder what "tannins" are exactly? If your answer to one, or all, of these questions is YES, then this event is for you! In this introductory workshop, we will explore where the taste of wine comes from, how to sip like a pro and how to find out what you like. Together, we will taste and describe 5 different wine styles to find the characteristics that you like, understand where they come from, and will learn some vocabulary to describe it in a shop or a restaurant. Acidity, sweetness, fruit, tannins, body - these are some of the concepts that we will explore in our journey to find out what you enjoy and why. This is a great event for anyone who would like to be able to describe and choose wine with more ease. The workshop is intended for complete beginners or wine lovers who want to refresh the basics. It requires no other pre-requisite than curiosity and the desire to better understand your own sense of taste. No matter your level, you will leave feeling more confident about choosing wine! The ticket includes: - 5 glasses of wine (white and red) - Food (Finger food, apéro style. Let us know in advance about allergies and/or dietary restrictions) / water Attendance is limited to 12 people . Tickets are fully refundable up to 48 hours prior to the event, and partially up until 24 hours before. EN/Info: The language for this workshop is English. Should all participants speak German, we will switch to German. The workshop instructor can also provide explanations in French. About your workshop instructor: My name is Anaïs and I am the owner and sommelière at Pépites, the new neighbourhood wine shop on Stargarder Strasse. I come from the Michelin gastronomy and was previously the lead sommelière at Restaurant Bricole in Berlin. I have also been leading wine tastings and wine workshop for over 5 years with my company "WinexAnaïs". I am a passionate lifelong learner with a past in tech, events and even cheesemongering, and my areas of specialty include France, Portugal and Germany. I have roots in Paris, as well as the beautiful regions of Bordeaux and La Rochelle, so I am an Atlantic coast lover through and through!
