Know What to Do When the Power Goes Out: Blackout Preparation

⚡ Quick question: if your heating runs on gas, does it keep working when the power goes out? On the ninth floor, do you still get water from the tap? Can you still call 112? If you're not sure, this evening is for you. At our first resilience workshop you'll find out what really happens in a blackout and how to be ready for it. Then you'll put it to the test in a simulation game. What will you learn? 🔹 What stops working in your flat when the power goes, and why (some of it will surprise you) 🔹 How to get news and reach help when your phone has no signal 🔹 What actually hurts people in a blackout (it's almost never the blackout itself), and how to avoid it 🔹 What to have at home and how to prioritize your preparation What we share comes from real experience, official investigations of recent blackouts, and Germany's Federal Office of Civil Protection. Then you play it 🎲 Your team gets a household: who lives there, what's in the fridge, what you have at home. The lights go out, and turn by turn you decide what to do. You only know what your household knows, and you only have what's in your flat. It's the best way to find the gaps in your own preparation: in a game, not in the dark.
