RÖSTE DEINEN KAFFEE AUF DEM LORING LAB ROASTER Roasting Through Great Minds with Loring ist eine kostenlose praktische Röstsession in München: Du bringst deinen eigenen Rohkaffee mit (oder röstest Rohkaffee unseres Partners Plot Coffee), röstest ihn gemeinsam mit dem Loring-Team – nach einem der Referenzprofile oder nach deinem eigenen – auf dem Loring Lab Roaster. Danach cuppen wir die Ergebnisse gemeinsam und sprechen darüber. WORUM ES GEHT Auf einem Loring lässt sich Rösten in der Sprache von Profilen besprechen: Mit Roast Architect und dem PID-Controller folgt die Maschine einem Profil automatisch, auch bei ganz unterschiedlichen Kaffees – wiederholbar und ohne ständiges Nachregeln. Im Alltag bleibt für Experimente wenig Raum. Bei großen Chargen ist es schwer, das Gewohnte zu verlassen und einen Kaffee einmal anders zu rösten: Jeder Versuch kostet Kaffee und Zeit. Die Loring-Modelle rösten dabei sehr ähnlich, vom kleinen Lab Roaster bis zur S70. Ein Profil lässt sich mit wenigen einfachen Regeln vom kleinen auf den großen Röster übertragen, und das Ergebnis bleibt sehr nah am Original. Für diese Session haben Tim Wendelboe, SEY Coffee und POMA – drei der besten Röstereien der Welt – ihre Profile und ihren Ansatz mit uns geteilt. Auf dem Lab Roaster kannst du damit in kleiner Charge und mit wenig Risiko etwas Neues ausprobieren – egal, ob du bereits auf einem Loring röstest oder auf einem anderen Röster. Ein Röst-Slot ist nur mit Reservierung möglich. DEIN SLOT • 45 Minuten am Loring Lab Roaster. Chargengröße 300 g bis 1 kg pro Röstung – pro Slot sind mehrere Röstungen möglich, bis zu fünf. • Ein Slot ist für eine Firma: eine Person oder ein Team von maximal zwei Personen. • Pro Person ist ein regulärer Slot buchbar. Einen weiteren Slot kannst du über die Warteliste anfragen. • Wähle beim Buchen Tag und Uhrzeit. Ausgebuchte Slots haben eine Warteliste; wird ein Platz frei, geht er an die erste Person auf der Liste. ROHKAFFEE Bring so viel eigenen Rohkaffee mit, wie du möchtest: Eine Röstung braucht 300 g bis 1 kg, und pro Slot sind mehrere Röstungen möglich. Wenn du keinen eigenen Rohkaffee mitbringst, stellt Plot Coffee ihn bereit. Wähle das einfach im Formular aus. REFERENZPROFILE Als Startpunkt stehen dir Referenzprofile von Tim Wendelboe, SEY Coffee und POMA zur Verfügung. Du kannst aber auch nach deinem eigenen Profil rösten: Es gibt keine Vorgaben, außer der Zeit deines Slots. Ein Referenzprofil ist die Ausgangsbasis für dein Experiment, kein Rezept: Mit deinem eigenen Rohkaffee entsteht dein eigenes Ergebnis, nicht das des Profil-Autors – und du entscheidest, was du unterwegs anpasst. CUPPING Die Idee ist, über das Gewohnte hinauszugehen. Deshalb empfehlen wir das Vergleichs-Cupping sehr und planen es für jeden Slot: Direkt im Anschluss cuppen wir deine Röstung gemeinsam und besprechen das Ergebnis. REGELN • Bitte sei mindestens 15 Minuten vor deinem Slot da. • Bei mehr als 10 Minuten Verspätung kann dein Slot an die Warteliste gehen. • Eigener Rohkaffee: mindestens 300 g für eine Röstung, gern mehr für mehrere. • Absagen kannst du jederzeit über den Link in deiner Bestätigung. FRAGEN [email protected] — English below — ROAST YOUR COFFEE ON THE LORING LAB ROASTER Roasting Through Great Minds with Loring is a free practical roasting session in Munich: you bring your own green coffee (or roast green coffee from our partner Plot Coffee), roast it together with the Loring team, following one of the reference profiles or your own, on the Loring Lab Roaster. Afterwards we cup the results together and talk about them. WHAT THIS IS ABOUT On a Loring, roasting can be discussed in the language of profiles: with Roast Architect and the PID controller, the machine follows a profile automatically, even with very different coffees – repeatably and without constant adjusting. In daily production there is little room for experiments. With large batches it is hard to leave the familiar behind and roast a coffee differently for once: every attempt costs coffee and time. Loring models roast very similarly, from the small Lab Roaster to the S70. A profile can be transferred from the small roaster to the big one with a few simple rules, and the result stays very close to the original. For this session, Tim Wendelboe, SEY Coffee and POMA – three of the best roasteries in the world – have shared their profiles and their approach with us. On the Lab Roaster you can use them to try something new in a small batch and with little risk – whether you already roast on a Loring or on another roaster. A roasting slot requires a reservation. YOUR SLOT • 45 minutes on the Loring Lab Roaster. Batch size 300 g to 1 kg per roast – several roasts per slot are possible, up to five. • One slot is for one company: one person or a team of up to two people. • One regular slot can be booked per person. An additional slot can be requested through the waitlist. • Pick the day and time when you book. Sold-out slots have a waitlist; when a place frees up it goes to the first person on the list. GREEN COFFEE Bring as much of your own green coffee as you like: one roast takes 300 g to 1 kg, and several roasts per slot are possible. If you do not bring your own green coffee, Plot Coffee provides it. Just pick that option in the form. REFERENCE PROFILES As a starting point you can use reference profiles from Tim Wendelboe, SEY Coffee and POMA. You are also free to roast your own way: there are no restrictions other than the time of your slot. A reference profile is the starting point for your experiment, not a recipe: with your own green coffee you get your own result, not the profile author's – and you decide what to adjust along the way. CUPPING The idea is to go beyond the familiar. That is why we strongly recommend the comparative cupping and plan to hold one for every slot: right after your roast we cup it together and talk about the result. RULES • Please arrive at least 15 minutes before your slot. • If you are more than 10 minutes late, your slot may go to the waitlist. • Own green coffee: at least 300 g for one roast, more for several. • You can cancel at any time via the link in your confirmation.
