Hvor finder håbet plads i hverdagen? Og hvilken rolle spiller kultur og musik i en tid præget af tab og uvished om fremtiden? Kom med til en eftermiddag på Johan Borups Højskole om udviklingen på Vestbredden, i Østjerusalem og i Gaza, om palæstinensisk identitet og kultur og om det internationale samfunds rolle. En eftermiddag med plads til eftertanke og smuk musik. Medvirkende Nidal Hamdouna er Area Manager i Gaza i Folkekirkens Nødhjælp. Nidal kommer fra Gaza men lever i dag i eksil i Cairo, hvorfra han fortsat arbejder i Gaza. Shahnaz Jubran er leder af Folkekirkens Nødhjælp kontor i Ramallah og har mange års erfaring med humanitært arbejde og udvikling, fra Vestbredden, Øst Jerusalem og Gaza. Muhammad Shehada er forsker, skribent og menneskerettighedsforkæmper fra Gaza. Hans analyser og tekster er bragt i en lang række internationale medier. Musik: Undervejs spiller dansk-palæstinensiske musiker og komponist Bilal Irshed - kendt for sin personlige fortolkning af mellemøstlig musik og sin elegante spillestil. Paula Larrain er journalist og vil være dagens moderator. Eventet er gratis og kræver kun tilmelding. Where do people find hope in everyday life? And what role do culture and music play in a time of loss and uncertainty about the future? Join us for an afternoon at Johan Borups Højskole to talk about what is happening in the West Bank, East Jerusalem and Gaza, about Palestinian identity and culture, and about how the international community is responding. An afternoon with room for reflection and beautiful music. Speakers: Nidal Hamdouna is DanChurchAid's Area Manager in Gaza. Nidal is from Gaza but now lives in exile in Cairo, where he continues to lead the work in Gaza. Shahnaz Jubran heads DanChurchAid's office in Ramallah and has many years of experience in humanitarian and development work in the West Bank, East Jerusalem and Gaza. Muhammad Shehada is a researcher, writer and human rights campaigner from Gaza. His analysis and articles have appeared in a wide range of international media. Music: During the afternoon, Danish-Palestinian musician and composer Bilal Irshed will play. He is known for his personal interpretation of Middle Eastern music and his elegant style. Journalist Paula Larrain will be moderating. The event is free. The venue is below street level and is unfortunately not accessible to wheelchair users or those with limited mobility.
