REGGAE ON THE BAY

Reggae on the Bay is a free, open-access celebration that brings families, communities, and visitors together on the shoreline—creating space to reflect, connect, and celebrate African-Caribbean heritage. A Growing Cultural Movement In 2024, we welcomed over 500 Windrush families to the beach—many travelling across the UK to be part of something truly meaningful. What took place was more than an event. It was: • A powerful expression of heritage, identity, and belonging • A space where stories were shared across generations • A moment of joy, visibility, and unity on the Dorset coastline From the first sound of reggae across the sand to the final moments of togetherness, the day resonated with pride, love, and resilience. What to Expect Set against the natural beauty of the coast, Reggae on the Bay offers: • Live reggae music celebrating the soundtrack of Windrush • Storytelling and cultural reflection rooted in lived experiences • Family-friendly activities in a relaxed, inclusive setting • A unique beach environment that brings culture and nature together Why It Matters This is what we do every year.
