Cyanotype Upcycling WorkshopINSPECTRAL x Ecka Studio, with 08mm We will walk you through cyanotype, the light sensitive process behind some of the earliest photography, now used to develop an image straight onto fabric. We'll start with an introduction to the process, then spend time preparing the fabric for printing, then take everything out into the sun and let it develop. The pieces need time to dry afterward, so you'll be able to pick them up the week after. Send us two photos of your choice, ideally the original file rather than a compressed copy so the print comes out sharp, and we'll get them printed as negatives to use on your piece. We need them by Friday 25 September, 12:00, to have them ready in time. You're also welcome to bring objects to print alongside your photos. Flowers, chains, keys, anything with a shape you'd like to see captured. Bring an old item of clothing in a light colour, 100% natural fiber. Cotton or linen work best. Something you don't wear any more or just something you want to give a new life to! Everything else is provided. Spots are limited.
