gain: ~590m · hiking time: ~5 to 5.5h · difficulty: moderate🔗 trail map: https://es.wikiloc.com/rutas-senderismo/las-carcavas-de-patones-76210152 the day prior to the hike we will open a what's app group to facilitate communication. plan: we'll meet at plaza de castilla for bus 197, at 8:15am to start queuing for the 8:30am bus around 9:30am we get off at torrelaguna (end of line), then wait about 35 minutes to transfer to microbus 913, which departs strictly at 10:05am microbus drops us at ctra. m134 - el pontón de la oliva at 10:15am, from there it's a 10-minute walk to the dam where the cárcavas trail starts on the way back we walk down to patones de abajo, then take the senda ecológica up into patones de arriba to explore the village and grab a drink or bite before heading back down return bus 197 from patones de abajo (avenida de madrid) at 5:50pm, expected back in madrid around 6:50pm prerequisites & what to bring: fitness & gear: sturdy hiking shoes required, and bring hiking poles for this one transport: bring cash or a zone c2 card/abono, fare is around €4.50 each way clothing: layers, weather can shift throughout the day water & snacks: bring a packed lunch, snacks, and plenty of water, this is a full day out this hike has limited spots, please sign up.cost: free. you only pay for your public transport. 🪙 leave the kids, the husband, and the dog at home, this one's 18+ women only 😉 This is a community meetup, not a guided tour.
