Get ready to dive deep into your emotions, connect with others, and discover your inner self at The Space Between The Space Between: A Community for Connection, Reflection & Self-ExpressionWhat to Expect ✨ The Space Between is a space for authentic connection, deep conversation, self-awareness and meaningful human interaction. We explore what happens when our inner worlds meet. Each of us brings our own thoughts, emotions, stories, fears, desires, boundaries and ways of seeing the world. When we connect with another person, something happens in the space between us. How do I relate to you? What happens in me when you speak? How do I respond when I feel uncomfortable, seen, misunderstood, connected or vulnerable? We use interactive exercises, guided discussions, partner work, group practices and embodiment to explore these questions together. Why "The Space Between"? The name has a few layers. There is the space between self and others: the relationship, interaction and communication that emerges when two inner worlds meet. And there is the literal space between people in the circle. We aren't simply a collection of individuals doing personal work side by side. The relationships and dynamics that emerge between us become part of the exploration. The group is therefore less about working on yourself in isolation, and more about discovering yourself through relationship. Core Elements Active Listening & Presence – Practice being fully present with yourself and others, listening beyond simply waiting for your turn to speak. Expressive & Reflective Exercises – Explore different themes through prompts, questions and exercises that invite reflection, honesty and self-expression. Body-Based Awareness – Notice what happens in the body during interaction and explore non-verbal forms of communication and connection. We also work with voice, sound and movement. Empathy & Relating Dynamics – Practice seeing and being seen, expressing yourself honestly, and becoming more aware of how we affect one another. Group & Partner Work – Move between one-on-one conversations, smaller exercises and full-group experiences, allowing different kinds of connection to emerge. The Atmosphere & Our Vision The Space Between draws inspiration from philosophy, psychology and conscious communication, as well as approaches such as Authentic Relating, Nonviolent Communication, circling, family constellations, embodiment practices and a wide range of books, workshops, conversations and life experience. Our sessions are structured but playful. Rather than following one fixed format every time, we explore different themes and practices, giving each meetup its own character while contributing to a broader exploration of connection and self-awareness. We aim to create a space that is consensual, respectful and non-judgmental, where people can experiment with different ways of relating while maintaining their own boundaries. Building Community This is also about creating a strong and welcoming community in Málaga. Familiar faces, new connections, shared experiences and gradually developing trust are all part of what makes the space work. You don't need to arrive with a particular worldview or philosophy. You don't need to be "spiritual," and spirituality isn't the focus of the group. The previous name, Sacred Connections, reflected one possible interpretation of this work, but we felt it placed too much emphasis on the spiritual side of things. The Space Between is intended to be open to people with very different perspectives, whether spiritual, non-spiritual, somewhere in between, or simply uninterested in labels. Our Sessions Our meetups rotate through different themes and formats. Examples include: • Topic Exploration Circles – Explore a particular theme through facilitated questions, exercises and group sharing. Themes might include boundaries, expression, vulnerability, communication, relationships or identity. • Authentic Connections – Explore presence-based practices and Authentic Relating exercises that invite curiosity, openness and deeper human connection. • Voice & Creative Expression – Explore voice, sound, song and other forms of creative expression as ways of connecting with ourselves and others. • Honest Conversation – Slow down and make space for deeper or more vulnerable conversations, with an emphasis on listening rather than advice-giving or fixing. • Storytelling & Sharing – Use personal stories and creative formats to explore experiences, perspectives and the ways we make meaning of our lives. • Embodiment & Awareness – Explore the connection between our internal experience, our bodies and our interactions with others through movement, awareness and non-verbal practices. The exact format changes from session to session, but the underlying thread remains the same: exploring ourselves and each other through the space we create together. Language & Accessibility 🇬🇧 English is the main working language. Spanish speakers are very welcome, and many attendees are bilingual. You don't need previous experience with any of the practices we explore. Each session is designed so that you can participate at your own level. A Note on Vulnerability & Personal Growth Some sessions involve personal sharing, emotional exploration or vulnerability. You are always free to choose your level of participation and to maintain your own boundaries. This is a community and exploration space, not therapy or a substitute for professional mental health support. If you know that deep emotional work or certain forms of interpersonal exploration are likely to be triggering for you, please consider whether the format is appropriate for you at this time.
