Climat, justice & Courage International Conference

The KlimaSeniorinnen have won ! NOW LET’S TURN THEIR ICTORY INTO ACTIONS An international conference on climate justice, human rights ENGLISH : In April 2024, the KlimaSeniorinnen made "herstory". The European Court of Human Rights ruled that a State’s failure to take adequate action against climate change violated our fundamental rights. A Herstoric victory. But our story does not end in Strasbourg. A judgment is only the beginning. It must be respected and implemented. Governments must act. And justice must become a reality. Join us on 4 November for a day of exchange and inspiration with leading voices from climate science, law, politics and civil society. Together, we will discuss how to turn legal victories into real climate action, how science can guide governments towards credible solutions, and how citizens, across generations and borders, can defend human rights, democracy and the rule of law. Climate protectionis not a favour...It is a right. And together, we can bring it to life. Beside the Klimaseniorinnen were numerous speakers, including: Françoise Tulkens, former judge at the European Court of Human Rights Martine Rebetez, Swiss climatologist and professor at the University of Neuchâtel Féris Barkat, activist and co-founder of the association “Banlieue pour le climat” More names will be confirmed in the coming days 11h00 : Opening 11h30 - 13h05 : Justice talk 13h00 - 14h00 : Lunch 14H00 - 15h00 : Climat talk 15h30 - 17h00 : Courage talk 17h00 - 18h00 : Apero Translation services available in English, French, and German Meals provided _______________________________________________________ FRANÇAIS : En avril 2024, les KlimaSeniorinnen sont entrées dans l’histoire.
