Taking place just two days after the anniversary of Chopin’s death, this special concert is dedicated in tribute to Frédéric Chopin, commemorating the 177th anniversary of his death on 17 October 1849 and celebrating the extraordinary musical legacy he left to the world. The evening will bring together Chopin’s timeless piano masterpieces, Mirana Faiz’s original compositions, and the remarkable musical history of 9 rue Cadet. Following acclaimed premieres in Hong Kong, Japan, London and Scotland, Mirana brings her celebrated solo piano album DREAMS to Paris for this special memorial concert. Recorded at the legendary Abbey Road Studios, DREAMS features emotionally rich and cinematic original compositions that blend classical virtuosity with contemporary storytelling. Mirana’s performances are known for their expressive depth and immersive atmosphere, inviting audiences into intimate musical narratives. Her composition Whispers of the Journey was nominated for the 2024 Hollywood Independent Music Awards and shortlisted for the 68th Grammy Awards (2026) for Best Instrumental Composition. A Memorial Tribute to Frédéric Chopin This concert is presented as a special memorial tribute to Frédéric Chopin, commemorating the anniversary of his death on 17 October 1849. Chopin died in Paris on 17 October 1849, leaving behind a body of piano music that has become one of the most enduring legacies in classical music. On 19 October 2026, just two days after the 177th anniversary of his death, Mirana Faiz will honour his memory through an evening devoted in part to his music. The second half of the concert will be dedicated to Chopin, featuring a selection of his most beloved piano masterpieces. Through this memorial tribute, Mirana seeks to remember Chopin not only as one of history’s greatest composers and pianists, but also as an artist whose intimate, poetic approach to the piano continues to inspire musicians and audiences around the world. This is an evening of remembrance, music and tribute, held in the city where Chopin spent the greater part of his professional life and where he died in 1849. Chopin’s Historic Connection to 9 Rue Cadet The location of this memorial concert carries an extraordinary connection to Chopin and his musical history in Paris. In the 19th century, 9 rue Cadet was home to the Pleyel salons, an important centre of Parisian musical life. It was here, on 26 February 1832, that Chopin gave his first public concert in Paris. The programme included his Piano Concerto in E minor, Op. 11, together with his celebrated Variations on “Là ci darem la mano,” Op. 2, among other works. The concert marked a significant moment in Chopin’s early career in Paris and introduced him to the musical world of the French capital. Paris would subsequently become central to Chopin’s artistic life. He established himself as one of the city’s most admired pianists, composers and teachers, performing in its salons and concert spaces and becoming closely associated with the artistic and intellectual life of the city. His relationship with Pleyel was also particularly important. Chopin admired Pleyel instruments for their delicate touch and expressive qualities, which complemented his highly personal approach to piano playing. From Chopin’s Parisian Debut to a Memorial Concert Almost two centuries after Chopin’s first public concert in Paris at 9 rue Cadet, his music returns to this historic address. On 19 October 2026, Mirana Faiz will perform a special memorial concert dedicated in part to the memory of Chopin, just days after the anniversary of his passing. The historical significance of the location makes the occasion particularly meaningful: Chopin once performed for the Parisian public at 9 rue Cadet. Today, his music returns to the same historic address in a memorial tribute marking the anniversary of his death. The evening creates a bridge between Chopin’s Paris and the Paris of today, bringing his timeless music together with Mirana’s contemporary piano compositions. A Concert in a Historic Parisian Setting The concert will take place within the elegant surroundings of Hôtel Cromot du Bourg, a historic Parisian hôtel particulier at 9 rue Cadet in the 9th arrondissement. With its architectural heritage and connection to Parisian cultural history, the venue provides an atmospheric setting for an evening of music, remembrance and storytelling. As autumn settles over Paris, guests are invited to step inside for an intimate piano recital where the memory of Chopin, the history of Paris and the living tradition of piano music come together. The Programme The evening will feature: • Selected works from Mirana Faiz’s acclaimed album DREAMS • New compositions from her upcoming Winter Theme Piano Album, due for release in 2027 • A special memorial tribute to Frédéric Chopin • A selection of some of the most beloved piano masterpieces by Frédéric Chopin From Mirana’s cinematic original compositions to Chopin’s timeless poetry, the programme promises an evening of beauty, emotion, remembrance and virtuosity.
