Our passionate speakers will share their expertise and ideas on a variety of topics. Each presentation will last about 20 minutes, followed by questions. If you've got killer content and incredible research to show then that should be enough. Information is what matters and look is irrelevant. But what if I told you being right isn't enough? Between your brilliant content and your audience's brain lies a long road paved with obstacles. Design can either be the sand that grinds your gears or the lube that helps everything slide smoothly. This talk will take you through how the font you pick is quietly rewriting what people think before they've read a single word, and why shit PowerPoints are where good information goes to die. About the presenter: Gwen graduated with her Masters in Graphic Design from the HEAR (Strasbourg) in 2016. She spends her days making data less ugly, and founded Sudio Obole to help scientists and associations say complicated things without putting everyone to sleep. At the end, we will apply the theory and solve a Sudoku together! About the presenter: Victoria has graduated with honors from the Listenbourg Sudoku Academy, (wait no that doesn't make sense, who wrote that ? let's start over) Victoria uses Sudokus as an anti-brainrot exercise and has dreamt of the non-Excel rows and columns of Sudoku before. ​​Artificial and biological intelligence​​ Abstract: This is both a talk and a conversation. No one needs an introduction to Artificial or biological intelligence. In the talk I will first briefly explain simple Artificial neural networks which form the building blocks of modern AI. Then I will give a brief description of biological neurons and neural networks, to highlight the "hardware" differences. Finally we will have a conversation on artificial and biological intelligence. How are they different (if they are)? What even is intelligence? About the presenter : Rajat has a masters in physics, specialising in statistical physics (physics of systems of many interacting units) and quantum information (computing with quantum systems). During his masters he got attracted to neuroscience and brain (another large system of interacting units which performs computations). He switched to neuroscience for his PhD (ongoing), where he is studying the dynamics of neural networks in the presence of synaptic dynamics Drinks and snacks will be available at the Association's bar.
