Aberdeen Launch: The International Politics of Soldier Exchange

Join us, in person or online, for the Aberdeen launch of the International Politics of Soldier Exchange in the Russo-Ukrainian War The International Politics of Soldier Exchange in the Russo-Ukrainian War: Military Families, States and International Institutions. Funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (Sept 2026- Aug 2029), this project explores the human dimension of soldier exchange in the Russo-Ukrainian war, with a special focus on the agency of women in military families. Working with the Institute of International Relations (Prague) and peace-building organisation, International Alert, and also partnering with Scotland-based organisations, the UN House Scotland and Beyond Borders Scotland: Women in Conflict, the project aims to advance our understanding of this under-studied process and to provide research-informed policy recommendations to support practitioners, humanitarian organisations, civil society initiatives and families affected by conflict. The Aberdeen launch is co-hosted with the Institute for Conflict, Transition, and Peace Studies.
