At SEN Space, we understand that finding suitable family activities isn't always easy. Busy environments, sensory overload, safety concerns and a lack of understanding can make even a simple family outing feel overwhelming. That's why we've created our SEN Space Family Sessions – relaxed, welcoming sessions designed specifically for children with additional needs and their families. Our aim is simple: to provide a safe, inclusive and non-judgemental space where children can be themselves, siblings can have fun, and parents and carers can meet, connect and build friendships with other families who understand. 🌈 What's Included? Our family sessions offer a range of activities for children of different ages, abilities and interests, including: • Sensory Play: Explore our specialist sensory rooms and enjoy a variety of sensory experiences. • Arts and Crafts: Get creative with fun, hands-on activities. • Outdoor Play: Enjoy our outdoor play areas and opportunities for movement and exploration. • Family Time: Spend quality time together in an environment designed around your family's needs. • Parent Connections: Meet other parents and carers, share experiences and develop friendships. • Refreshments: Drinks and light refreshments will be provided. There is no pressure to participate in every activity. Children can explore at their own pace, take breaks when needed and enjoy the session in whatever way works best for them. 💕 More Than Just a Play Session We know that raising a child with additional needs can sometimes feel isolating. Many parents tell us that they struggle to find places where their whole family feels comfortable, welcomed and understood. Our family sessions are about changing that. We want parents to feel they can relax without worrying about judgement, siblings to feel included, and children with additional needs to enjoy activities in a setting that understands and accommodates their individual needs. Most importantly, we want families to have opportunities to meet others, make new friends and feel part of a supportive community. No judgement. No expectations. Just families coming together, having fun and making memories. 📅 Upcoming Family Sessions • Sunday 22 November 2026: 11:00am–12:30pm • Sunday 13 December 2026: Christmas event – time to be confirmed • Sunday 17 January 2027: 11:00am–12:30pm • Sunday 21 February 2027: 11:00am–12:30pm Location: SEN Space, Dunmurry 🎟️ Tickets – £10 Per Child Tickets cost £10 per child, with refreshments included. Every penny raised helps us continue providing our Sibling Club and Parent Support services. By attending our family sessions, you're not only enjoying a lovely family experience – you're also helping us support siblings, parents and carers of children with additional needs in our local community. 📋 Booking Information and Important Details To ensure our family sessions remain safe, comfortable and enjoyable for everyone, please read the following information before booking. Parent and Carer Supervision Our Family Sessions are designed for families to attend and enjoy together. They are not drop-off childcare sessions. Parents and carers must remain on the premises throughout the session and are responsible for supervising their children at all times, including when using the sensory rooms, play equipment and outdoor areas. Our staff will be available to welcome families, facilitate activities and offer guidance, but they will not provide individual childcare or one-to-one supervision. Limited Spaces and Advance Booking Places are limited to ensure that our environment remains comfortable, safe and suitable for children with additional and complex needs. All children attending must have a booked place. We recommend booking early to avoid disappointment. Individual Needs and Accessibility We recognise that every child is different, and we want families to feel as comfortable and supported as possible. If your child has particular mobility, sensory, communication, medical or other support needs that you would like us to be aware of, please contact us before attending. This will help us consider any reasonable adjustments and ensure that our facilities and activities are suitable for your family's needs.
