This walk includes four Hooke Trail plaques around the West Wight countryside. Hooke Trail Flavour - 4 miles This walk includes four Robert Hooke Trail plaques, views across the Solent to Hurst Castle, Golden Hill Fort, the Western Yar Valley and open countryside views. There are toilets at the start and finish only. Free parking at Fort Victoria. Some nice views along the way - please bring a snack and water. Sensible walking shoes are a must. Length of walk: 4 miles (approx 3 hours) Start/Finish location: Fort Victoria Country Park, Westhill Lane, Norton, Freshwater, Yarmouth, PO41 0RR Walk Leader: Paul Bingham Walk Cost: Voluntary donation requested but not obligatory (cash on the day). Type of Walk: Circular Pace of Walk: Moderate - This walk will follow a moderate pace. Walk grade: Fairly Easy - Gentle, rolling landscape, walking on paths with good to average surfaces. Some walking on gentle inclines, some stiles or steps to be expected en route. Mobility level: Walkers need to be reasonably agile and mobile.
