BMC Hill Walking: Social Walk, Cracoe Fell, Yorkshire

A day of Yorkshire scenery and memorials Starting at Rylstone Duck Pond (the home of the famous 'Calendar Girls') we will head to Cracoe Village. The route goes up the fellside to Cracoe Fell and its large war memorial. We then follow the fell top to Rylstone Cross, another war memorial, before dropping back down to the valley bottom and back to the start point. We’re excited to welcome you for a memorable evening in the outdoors! Meet the Leader Ian has over 25 years of experience walking and leading groups in the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales, North York Moors and Peak District. He holds the Walking Group Leader and Hill & Moorland Leader awards and has taken several charity groups over the Yorkshire 3 Peaks whilst also volunteering with local clubs and council. Dales Bus 874/875/876 What to Bring We’ll cover a range of terrains, so please ensure you are well-prepared with appropriate gear Footwear: Sturdy, water-resistant hiking boots or shoes with good grip Clothing: Dress in layers, including a warm layer and waterproofs, as conditions can vary; bring a hat and gloves Food and Drink: Bring enough food and water for a full days walk; there will be no places to purchase refreshments en route Other Essentials: Although we plan to finish within daylight hours, carrying a small torch or head torch is advisable for emergencies Who Can Attend Anyone, under 18's must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Well behaved dogs are welcome but must be kept under close control, please indicate on your booking if you are bringing a dog Health Precautions: If you have any health conditions that might impact your participation, please inform us in advance.
