Dana Gillespie and The London Blues Band

Beeding and Bramber LIVE are privileged to present the 'legendary' Dana Gillespie and The London Blues Band. Born Richenda Antoinette de Winterstein Gillespie into an aristocratic family, she transformed from a teenage pop and folk recording artist to a glam rock singer and blues musician. She was close friends with major music and cultural figures of the era, including David Bowie (she was his girlfriend), Bob Dylan, Mick Jagger, Jimmy Page and Sir Elton John. She has recorded over 70 albums, originated the role of Mary Magdalene in the original London West End production of Jesus Christ Superstar and later founded the Mustique Blues Festival working closely with Mick Jagger. Aside from her fabulous music career she has penned an autobiography documenting her experiences, titled 'Weren't Born a Man' that reads like a 'who's who' of the music industry. Alongside all of this she has had success as an actor and model, although whilst her curvaceous figure and presence in films and tabloids drew widespread media attention, she concentrated heavily on her music career rather than a specific 'It Girl' title...
