Tatreez - Palestinian embroidery workshop

Palestinian embroidery workshop with the founder of Women in Hebron - a cooperative for embroidery and craft by Palestinian women in the West Bank. Come along to Old Palestiene House for a cosy evening of learning Tatreez directly from a Palestinian artisan whilst she is visiting the UK. Tatreez holds a rich history with many of the motifs having specific meanings, for example specific plants, and contains regional variation in design across Palestine. All sewing skill levels welcome! All materials will be included so all you have to do is bring yourself... Alongside learning this heritage craft you can enjoy teas and home baked Palestinian treats. There will also be the opportunity to buy Tatreez by Women in Hebron. All takings from the evening will go to support Women in Hebron.
