Full description from organizer

"Celebrate success, grow your network and connect with construction professionals shaping the future of the industry." Join the CIOB Bristol for an inspiring evening that brings together students, emerging professionals, CIOB members and industry leaders from across the built environment. Whether you're looking to expand your professional network, gain insights from industry leaders, celebrate student achievements, or simply connect with like-minded people who share your passion for construction, this event is for you. As the construction industry continues to evolve, the relationships you build today could shape the opportunities you unlock tomorrow. This event provides a unique platform to meet professionals from a range of disciplines, learn from experienced leaders, and celebrate the achievements of the next generation entering the profession. Keynote Speakers: Dr Victoria Hills, Chief Executive Officer - CIOB Hear from CIOB CEO Dr Victoria Hills as she shares insights from her own career journey, the lessons she's learned along the way, and her vision for the future of the construction industry. Victoria will explore the opportunities and challenges facing the sector, the skills that future leaders will need to succeed, and how today's students and emerging professionals can help shape a more innovative and sustainable built environment. She'll also highlight the importance of building your professional network, embracing opportunities, and making meaningful connections throughout your career. Lara Newman; Founder and Chief Executive - Common Ground Lara has held several strategic leadership and board positions, most recently as Founder and Chief Executive of LocatED, the highly successful arm's-length property company owned by the Department for Education. She has over 25 years of experience in property deals and complex capital investment projects and is known for her unrelenting energy and ability to successfully join the dots. Now at the helm of Common Ground, a new type of campaigning company, Lara established the Community Interest Company (CIC) in April 2026. The organisation uses income from its industry-leading property consultancy to challenge and disrupt the status quo in property and built environment careers. As the first person in her family to attend university, Lara has seen first-hand how informal networks, privilege and opaque career pathways can exclude talented individuals. She is always willing to share her own story and is a passionate advocate for the belief that young people "can't be what they can't see". Celebrating Sucess Awards Join us as we recognise and celebrate outstanding achievements within the next generation of construction professionals. Awards will be presented to: • UWE students receiving CIOB Certificates of Excellence • Winners of the CIOB Bristol Excellence Awards (BSc & MSc Construction Project Management) Celebrate their success and hear how achievements such as these can help strengthen professional profiles, CVs and future career prospects.
