Join us for a classic Kentish walk from Canterbury or Wye, ending with a pint at the Tickled Trout Pub. 🥾 Canterbury West to Wye (The Tickled Trout) Hike Join us for a fantastic 12-mile countryside walk starting from the historic city of Canterbury and winding through rolling fields, scenic paths, and beautiful Kentish landscapes, finishing with spectacular views of the Wye Downs and a stop at The Tickled Trout! 📍 Key Details at a Glance • Start Time & Meeting Point: 9:00 AM in front of Canterbury West Train Station. (the group will leave the station at 9:15AM sharp and cannot unfortunately wait for late comers). • End Point: The Tickled Trout Pub / Wye Train Station • Distance: ~12 miles (19 km) • Walking Time: Approx. 5.5 hours (plus breaks/lunch stop) • Total Ascent: 1,066 ft (325 m) | Total Descent: 1,146 ft (350 m) • Difficulty / Fitness Level: Moderate (Requires a reasonable level of fitness due to distance and total elevation) • Return Travel: Regular trains run directly back to Canterbury West from Wye Train Station (located right next to the pub). 🏔️ Hike Highlights & Finish • Scenic Countryside: Enjoy a varied route through open fields, charming rural paths, and uneven terrain. • Wye Downs Views: Towards the end of the walk, prepare for stunning, sweeping views across the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty at the Wye Downs. • Pub Finish & Optional Dinner: We'll celebrate completing the hike with a drink at The Tickled Trout in Wye.
