Great Coastal Birdwatch Wildlife Walk - Gunners Park / Shoebury

Join us for a quick stroll around Gunners Park for the Great Coastal Birdwatch Event details Date: 28 October 2026 Time: 10:00am - 2:00pm Please note - We will be on site from 10am - 2pm, but the wildlife walk runs from 10am- 11am. Pop Up Information: The Bird Aware Team will be setting up at Gunners Park to welcome in the Great Coastal Birdwatch 2026! The ranger team will be there with activities and games and tips on how you can do your own Great Coastal Birdwatch. You can come down and meet us between 10am - 2pm. Wildlife Walk Information: Join us for a short light stroll as we explore Gunner’s Park and the shore of Shoebury East Beach to celebrate local wildlife. Our coastal ranger will guide you from our gazebo along the sea wall to Shoebury beach and back. The walk will take approximately 1 hour, and we will walk over a flat surface with frequent stops for birdwatching, using spotting scope. Please bring suitable footwear, as the paths can get muddy and slippery after wet weather. There are public toilets in Shoebury East and cafes on site. Dogs are welcome to join in but MUST be kept on leads for the entire duration of the walk. Booking Essential Where to meet us: • The sea wall by the Old Barge Pier, Barge Pier Rd, Southend-on-Sea SS3 9FN (you will be able to see us by the SW end of the pond) • Free parking at Southend-on-Sea SS3 9FD How to Prepare for Your Day: • Binoculars if you have them • Suitable footwear – Waterproof highly recommended • Weather appropriate clothing • Dogs MUST be kept on leads • Poo Bags Photography and videography may take place during this event.
