National tree week walk at Mocketts wood

Join us and Neil Hibbert (Woodland Officer) at Mocketts wood for an introduction into the woodland and the species that call it home. Join Birdwise East Kent on a special walk at Mockett's wood in St Peters, a local woodland managed by Neil Hibbert (Woodland officer for Broadstairs and St Peters council). As it is national tree week we thought it fitting to support a local woodland project. On this walk you will learn about woodland management, along with tips and tricks you can use to identify different tree species. Neil has worked hard in creating a local habitat which is used by an array of different woodland species including the possibility of woodpeckers. We hope you will use this walk as an opportunity to learn more about a local woodland and what you can do to help the cause. This will be the perfect opportunity to ask Neil of the varied volunteering roles he has to offer. Please note there are no toilets on the premises. Well behaved dogs on a lead are welcome. Parking is available on Hopeville Avenue. The meeting point will be by the van which will be in the carpark. This car park is the carpark next to the co-op car park.
