Here’s what you can expect: Hello Happiness: We’ll start the day with some fun games to get to know each other and break the ice. Bring along your favorite snack to use as a clue for everyone to discover more about you, or use this time to pick up a local Welsh cake as fuel for your walk. City Walk: We begin our tour outside Cardiff Castle, a striking monument to the capital's heritage that blends ancient Roman walls, a medieval keep, and breathtaking Gothic Revival architecture. From there, we’ll explore the surroundings of this medieval fortress, experiencing the peace and nature it continues to protect in neighboring Bute Park. Joy of Nature and Play: At the mystical Gorsedd Stones, we’ll hold a circle of peace and ground ourselves with mindfulness activities. Afterwards, explore Bute Park’s world-class arboretum of rare 'Champion Trees' and stroll along the River Taff. Along the way, seek out hidden wooden sculptures and unleash your creativity at the outdoor percussion and musical trail. 60-minute smartphone photography workshop: Our mindful walk continues over the Millennium Bridge and along the winding River Taff to Blackweir Bridge, where award-winning photographer Rachel Southard will lead a 60-minute smartphone photography workshop. From practical tips and camera settings to macro perspectives and nature shots, Rachel will guide you through it all, frame by frame. Wholesome Shared Snacks: Next, we’ll pause at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama or the Secret Garden Cafe to enjoy wholesome snacks and drinks while connecting over reflection on our journey so far. Feel free to bring a packed snack if you prefer. We’ll share stories of kindness, exchange mindfulness tips, and explore how to apply them to everyday life.
