Nature's Silent Poetry - Botanical Printing with Jemima Willis

Gather the quiet voices of plants with Polyhymnia, muse of contemplation. Forage, press and print botanical marks on a traditional press. A morning of slow looking, foraging and printmaking at Little Flower Farm. This September, as the year tips towards balance and the hedgerows go to seed, we gather in the spirit of Polyhymnia, muse of contemplation and sacred poetry. She is the muse who speaks in silence, the one associated with memory, symbolism, and the search for meaning through quiet attention. Jemima Willis, floral artist, joins us to work with a traditional printing press, printing directly from flowers, seed heads and carefully foraged leaves. Every plant leaves its own mark: a vein, a shadow, a torn edge, the ghost of a stem. We're not arranging nature or drawing it; we're letting it speak its poetry through us. We'll begin with a grounding meditation before stepping outside to gather, taking time to connect with the natural world and prepare ourselves to listen. Then we'll work both with and without the press, building a small series of unique prints, experimenting with texture, pressure and composition as we go. As always, there'll be time to share, to sit with a hot or cold drink, and to be in the company of other women. The Details The morning includes • Grounding meditation to open the session • A guided gather from the farm and hedgerows • All printmaking materials, inks and use of the press • A series of finished prints to take home • Artisan tea, coffee, and locally sourced treats. • Time to talk, breathe and create. What to bring Just yourself. Wear something you don't mind getting ink on, and shoes that suit wet grass. If you have pressed flowers or leaves of your own that mean something to you, bring them — we'd love to print with them. Who it's for Anyone. No printmaking experience needed, and no artistic experience either. If you've never made a mark in your life, this is a good place to start. Arrival: We begin at 10 am - please feel free to arrive from 9.45 to settle in with a beverage before we start. Location: Our workshops are held in the beautiful studio at the Little Flower Farm in Cradley. Previously known as the Blue-Ginger Gallery & Café. This is a beautiful, light, and airy space surrounded by Jemima's floristry tools. You can't help but be creatively inspired here! Parking: There is plenty of well-signposted parking available on site. Accessibility: As this is a working flower farm, the ground is uneven, and there are steps to the main entrance; however, an alternative step-free entrance is available on request. Once inside, the space is one level. Exchange: Standard tickets £30 (All-inclusive of booking fees, high-quality materials, and seasonal refreshments). Look out for Early Bird tickets or bundles. About the "Finding Your Creative Muse" Series: This is the fifth of eight workshops in 2026 and our third year of Women's Rites Workshops.
