Wintery Statement Fused Glass Platter

Make a statement glass platter for your table when entertaining! Using the kilncarving technique we will design and make your statement piece for the Christmas table this year. When you get home you can channel your inner Star Baker and show off your home baked treats on your very own platter. During the class I will share the kiln carving technique with you. We will design your platter, before setting about creating it. I will have a range of designs that you can decide on the layout of or you can start from scratch with your own unique design. And then of course we can add some snow to your design before it goes into the kiln. At the end of the class the pieces will be fired in the kiln which takes some time so your masterpieces will be ready for you the following week to collect at a prearranged time. During the class there will be tea and coffee included. Classes include materials to create your 40 x 20cm platter and tuition. Please bring a packed lunch, or there will be time to head into town, a short walk away, to one of the lovely cafes for lunch. This class usually finishes somewhere between 4 and 4.30 depending on how complex your designs are to complete. This class is suitable for anyone over the age of 14, however under 18’s must be accompanied by a participating adult. Flat, closed toe shoes must be worn, e.g.: trainers, as unfortunately without them you will not be able to take part.
