Free Thorney Island Nature Walk & Sound Recording

Explore Thorney Island in Emsworth, discover local wildlife with an expert guide, meet new people and record nature sounds. Re:Play — Nature Walk & Sound Recording Expedition Join Frankie Knight for a relaxed sound-recording adventure around Thorney Island in Emsworth on Satuday 17 October. We’ll explore the coastline, listen closely to the landscape and capture the sounds of nature using field recorders, microphones and headphones. The sounds we capture will later be transformed into electronic music at our free electro jam workshop at Casemates on 20 October. Join us for the hike, the jam, or both — it’s completely up to you. Along the way, Ranger Tony from Bird Aware Solent will help us spot and identify the fascinating wildlife of the Solent coast — binoculars provided. You don’t need to know anything about sound recording or wildlife to join in. Come along to explore, listen, discover, or get involved in recording sounds that will become part of the music. It’s a chilled, friendly and fun event, open to everyone.
