Linoprinting Workshop at Knit Nottingham 28th November with Marcus Gilmore

A creative full-day workshop covering the art of Linoprinting at Knit Nottingham from 10:00 - 16:00 Enjoy a full day Linoprint workshop designing and printing with artist & designer Marcus Gilmore at Nottingham's Knit Nottingham at 9 Trinity Walk, Nottingham NG1 2AN. This workshop class is designed to introduce you to the medium of linoprinting in a more relaxed setting. We will be working off a long-table located on the second floor in Dan/Hannah's shop! To start we will begin with sketching your chosen designs, and using carbon paper to transfer your designs onto the lino plates prior to carving. You will have the opportunity to print with a variety of water based inks + paints, and hand-made types of paper to create unique and striking prints. All equipment including lino plates, carving tools and ink will be provided. Participants of all abilities are welcome and no previous experience is required. Price is £60.00 per ticket. We look forward to having you and excited to see what you design! I'll provide a lot of example designs to get you started, if you are struggling to come up with an initial idea or concept. I recommend it's a great idea to depict a beloved pet or animal as a linoprint, it is a great way to honour them as a one-off bespoke print :D Here are some benefits to attending and having a go with linoprinting & attending a class like this : • Problem solving using a hands-on creative medium • Helps to lower stress and the joy of learning a new craft • It's quite meditative! And perhaps discover a love for print-making? We will be working on the second floor room area which has a lovely long table and access to a sink.
