New Nottingham Journal 2 Launch Party

We’d love you to come and raise a glass to the new issue of the New Nottingham Journal! The New Nottingham Journal returns. The city's literary journal was founded last year on Kickstarter, with support from Arts Council England and a range of partners across Nottingham, and sold out its first print run. Issue 2 is another step forwards. It brings together Jo Shapcott, twice winner of the National Poetry Competition; Benjamin Myers, author of The Gallows Pole and Cuddy; Camilla Grudova, one of Granta's Best of Young British Novelists; Dean Atta, BAFTA-winning screenwriter and author of The Black Flamingo; and the exiled Uzbek novelist Hamid Ismailov. Alongside them NNJ No. 2 will feature the first English appearance of a short story by Sadegh Hedayat, the Iranian modernist behind The Blind Owl, translated by Niloufar-Lily Soltani. It also features new work from outstanding writers here in the city, as well as black and white photography and illustrations. We’d love you to come and raise a glass to the new issue. There'll be readings from some of the contributors, a friendly mingle, a word from editor Andrew Tucker Leavis and the first chance to get your hands on a copy of the sequel.
