It's NOT about their behaviour

Every feeling leaves clues. Every clue tells a story. Every story deserves curiosity. When the shoe goes missing, the screen goes off, or someone refuses to get in the car, it can look as though the moment is all about their behaviour. But it is rarely just about that. It’s Not About Their Behaviour is a warm, curious two-hour workshop for women who are mums, carers or educators and who want to understand what happens before the reaction. Together, we’ll become Feelings Detectives: slowing down to notice the clues in the moment, rather than rushing straight to blame, fix or react. We’ll gently explore what might be happening underneath behaviour, in children and in ourselves. Through conversation, reflection and simple creative activities, we’ll look at: • Why some everyday moments can feel much bigger than they are • The clues our bodies, thoughts and expectations bring into difficult moments • What may be sitting underneath a child’s or our own behaviour • How curiosity can create a little more room for connection and choice This is not about becoming perfectly calm, getting it right every time or adding another set of parenting rules to your already-full head. It is a chance to feel seen, make sense of those hard moments and begin to approach them with a little more curiosity. Come as you are. No previous knowledge is needed, and there will be no judgement. What to expect during the workshop This is a gentle, interactive workshop rather than a lecture. You’ll have space to listen, reflect, chat with others if you’d like to, and get curious about the moments that can feel bigger than they “should”. You’ll receive your own workshop journal to use throughout the evening. It is there to help you notice your own clues, make sense of what you discover and take away the parts that feel useful to you. There is no pressure to share anything personal, write the “right” answers or have everything figured out. We’ll explore through a mixture of: • Guided reflection and conversation • Simple, practical activities • A little creativity • Everyday examples of the moments that can lead to a reaction You’ll leave with your completed journal and a gentler way of looking at both behaviour and the person underneath it. After the workshop The workshop does not need to end when you walk out of the room. Your journal includes seven days of noticing pages: short, simple prompts to help you keep gathering clues from real life, at your own pace. This is not homework or another thing to do perfectly. It is simply an invitation to pause, wonder and spot what you might not have noticed before. You’ll also be invited into a supportive Telegram group for the seven days following the workshop. This will be a quiet space for gentle prompts, shared reflections and a reminder that you are not the only one finding these moments hard. No pressure. No judgement. Just a little more curiosity, one clue at a time.
