Otter Estuary Ranger Walk

Join our estuary ranger for one of their monthly walks around the Otter Estuary, taking in the seasonal highlights. Otter Estuary Ranger Walk A leisurely walk around the footpaths of the Otter Estuary Nature Reserve with stops to take in the sights and sounds of the reserve. Learn about the wildlife that uses the estuary and what you can expect to see from month to month. Three years on from the Lower Otter Restoration Project, 55ha of new saltmarsh and mudflat is developing in the estuary and atracting new wildife to enjoy. See first hand how the site is evolving with the turn of the seasons and the ebb and flow of each tide. Revenue from the car park is pumped straight back into caring for the Otter Estuary and allows us to continue providing events like this for free. Know before you go... The walk will last approximately 3 hours and will be at a gentle pace following flat gravelled paths for around 4km. There will be regular stops along the route at viewing areas with benches. Much of the reserve is accessible for mobility scooters, please contact us if you would like to discuss access. Please note there are no toilet facilities on site. The nearest toilets and refreshment facilities are based at Budleigh beach or Budleigh Salterton Cricket Club (during The Holt's opening hours). Dogs on leads welcome.
