An evening with the Sameer Project

M/others Against Genocide Scotland are honoured to host two co-founders of The Sameer Project and we know you’d love to show them the solidarity of Glasgow. Screening of Rendered in Light, مَرسوم بالضوء (22 mins) by Maria Marrone, followed by a Q&A with two co-founders of The Sameer Project. Free but ticketed Rendered in Light Rendered in Light is more than a documentary. It uses one man’s story to spotlight Gazan-led mental health innovation and the care work happening under siege. As trauma and displacement deepen, the film reframes Gaza through creativity, compassion, and resilience, not only devastation. It is a call to recognise the right to healing and the people building it. The Sameer Project The Sameer Project (TSP) is a rapid-response mutual aid initiative that supports the most vulnerable communities in Gaza. Founded in April 2024 by three Palestinians in exile, the project was a response to the gap between “intention” and actual delivery of necessary aid in a way that preserves the dignity of displaced families in Gaza. TSP prioritises communities that were disenfranchised even before the genocide; encampments and areas with little to no access to outside advocacy. Through their large network of teams in Gaza, they listen to what these communities need and provide urgent support so they can continue to resist the genocide and strive for liberation. It is an honour to welcome The Sameer Project to Glasgow and we hope you will join us to show them all the love, respect, and support that they can expect to find here for years to come.
