Parents and Guardians Need Support Too Being a parent or guardian can be rewarding, but it can also bring questions, pressures, and challenges. How do I better support my child? Where can I get advice when things become difficult? How can I improve my own financial position? How do I prepare my family for a changing world? Where can I find trusted support, mentoring or guidance? Parents' Focused Event & International Men's Day has been created with those questions in mind. This is an afternoon dedicated to parents, guardians and families, bringing together people with experience, knowledge and practical support to help parents strengthen themselves, their families and the young people around them. The event will also provide an opportunity to celebrate International Men's Day, including a dedicated session for fathers with Father2Father. What Can You Expect? The programme will include: Parenting, Mentoring & Coaching - Practical support and insights for parents and guardians. Family Therapy, Counselling & Coaching - A panel exploring issues affecting families and where support can be found. Financial Literacy - Ideas and practical guidance around managing money and building greater financial confidence. Business & Entrepreneurship - Insights to help parents explore business opportunities, develop skills and think differently about financial independence. Coding & AI - An introduction to skills and opportunities shaping today's and tomorrow's world. Safeguarding - Important conversations around keeping children and young people safe. Father2Father - A dedicated session for fathers, providing space for conversation, shared experiences and support. International Men's Day - An opportunity to recognise and celebrate the contribution of men while creating space for positive conversations around men's lives, families and communities. Why Attend? You could leave with: • New ideas and practical information • Greater confidence in supporting your children • Access to organisations and people who can help • New connections and potential support networks • Greater awareness of financial and business opportunities • Insights into coding, AI and future skills • A better understanding of safeguarding • The opportunity to hear from people who have walked the path themselves Most importantly, you do not have to navigate everything alone. Parents Are Part of the Solution At 1000 Black Boys, we believe that supporting young people also means supporting the people around them. When parents and guardians have access to the right information, support, opportunities and networks, they are better positioned to support the children and young people in their lives. This event is therefore not simply about what young people need. It is about what parents and guardians need too. Who Should Attend? This event is particularly relevant to Parents and guardians: • Looking for support • Wanting to develop their skills • Seeking advice on supporting their children • Interested in business and entrepreneurship • Wanting to improve their financial literacy • Families interested in coding and AI • With safeguarding concerns Fathers and male carers Young people attending with their parent or guardian Organisations supporting parents, families and young people Children and young people are welcome to attend, but the focus of the event will be on adults. Meet the People Bringing the Conversation to Life Ademola Adebayo - Founder & CEO, 1000 Black Boys and Get Hench Ainsley Nyandoro - Aspiring TV Presenter and Young Entrepreneur Plus additional speakers and contributors to be announced. Our contributors bring different experiences, perspectives and expertise, with the aim of providing useful conversations rather than simply presentations. A Space to Ask Questions Bring the questions you have been thinking about. Whether it is parenting, finances, business, safeguarding, family support, technology, fatherhood or your own personal development, this is an opportunity to listen, ask questions and connect with others. What is one thing you would like more support with as a parent or guardian? Bring Someone With You You don't have to attend alone.
