Diaspora Africa Media and Community Mixer - The Diaspora Exchange

Join Diaspora Africa for an afternoon of conversations, connections and community. This December, we are bringing together journalists, media professionals, migrant and diaspora organisations, community leaders, creatives and people passionate about changing how African migration and diaspora communities are represented. Come and meet others doing meaningful work across the diaspora, exchange ideas, share your work and explore opportunities for collaboration. About the event Diaspora Africa is a community-focused newsroom documenting African migration and diaspora experiences from the perspectives of the people living them. Our Media & Community Mixer is an opportunity to bring the people behind this work into the same room, journalists, community organisations, researchers, creatives, campaigners, policymakers and members of African diaspora communities. The afternoon will include: • Conversations on media and representation • A panel discussion with African diaspora community leaders • Short presentations from organisations working across our communities • Networking and informal conversations • Opportunities to connect, collaborate and share ideas Whether you work in the media, run a community organisation, create, campaign, research or simply care about how African communities are represented, there is a place for you in this conversation.
