A visit to the sandpit on Horsell Common near Woking - the place where Martians landed in HG Wells "The War of The Worlds" This walk follows locations in Woking mentioned in H. G. Wells "The War of the Worlds" Rob will take you carefully to the sandpit which was the site of the first Martian capsule to land, and where the power of their deadly heat ray became apparent. He will read extracts from the book along the way and also talk about Wells life in Woking The walk is around 3 miles an while it is fairly level it may be muddy
