YDLG PoJangMaCha : Food, Culture & Community

Celebrate New Malden’s diverse voices, cultures and food with festive flavours, karaoke, K-pop and dance. Everyone is welcome! Together for a Better New Malden Join us on 27 November 2026 at Jubilee Square, New Malden, for a festive gathering celebrating the voices, cultures and flavours of our diverse community. Inspired by the Korean pojangmacha—a welcoming street-food stall where people gather to eat and socialise—our contribution to the Jubilee Square Christmas event will bring neighbours together to share food, enjoy music and discover one another’s traditions. Whether you celebrate Christmas or simply enjoy bringing people together, you are warmly welcome. Food, culture and festive fun Our proposed programme includes: • Food from different cultural traditions. • Opportunities to share stories and learn about different festive celebrations. • Karaoke, K-pop and dance. • Opportunities to meet and support young leaders from diverse backgrounds. Programme details will be confirmed with the event organisers and participating teams. Supporting the next generation The Young Diverse Leaders Group (YDLG) brings together emerging leaders from New Malden’s diverse communities. Through working together on community projects, we aim to help young people develop their confidence, share their ideas and make New Malden an even better place for everyone.
