An Autumn Day in Saltaire: Sponsored Autumn Walk & Poetry Workshop

Join CADFA for a scenic autumn walk along the canal finishing with an amazing poetry workshop with Saliya by the river Aire. Join CADFA on Sunday 1st November for An Autumn Day in Saltaire — a sponsored autumn walk combining the beauty of the Yorkshire countryside with the creativity of poetry. We’ll set off from the bottom of Victoria Road in Saltaire and follow the canal in the direction of Liverpool for about a mile, taking in the autumn scenery along the way. After a short break at Hirst Lock, which will include hot chocolate and cinnamon rolls, we’ll head back along the river Aire and gather in Roberts Park for a picnic followed by poetry workshop led by Salya. Whether you love walking, enjoy writing poetry or simply fancy spending time outdoors with a lovely community of people, you’re welcome to join us. Date: Sunday 1 November 2026 Distance: Approximately 2 1/2 miles Meeting point: Bottom of Victoria Road, Saltaire Poetry workshop: Roberts Park, Saltaire Every step helps raise vital funds for CADFA's 2027 Summer Youth Visit. Come for the walk, stay for the poetry, and discover the words waiting along the water.
