Full description from organizerShow less
Poignant, critically acclaimed feature debut by writer-director Hasan Hadi that balances childlike wonder with the harsh realities of life. Debut film is a terrific, charming and sometimes sweet, beautifully shot film of a morally corrupt world in which a nine-year old girl is chosen by lottery to bake a cake for Saddam Hussein’s birthday. Remarkable performances from the largely amateur cast of vivid characters. Dir. Hasan Hadi, Iraq 2025 105mins 12A
