Project Launch & Ponds! - Doddington, Lincolnshire

What to expect: • Site intro & pond walk - we'll explore the site to find our ponds, looking at the exisiting habitats for amphibians, birds, and insects and learning how beneficial ponds can be for biodivesity • Co-creation workshop - we'll chat about the best ways we could transform the site, using our imaginations to dream up what we want to see ecologically and ideas to engage more young people • Pond skills - we'll finish the day peering into the ponds themselves and brushing up on our ID skills, with the chance to get up close with some aquatic invertebrates! About the Wilder Doddington site: The Wilder Doddington project was launched in 2021 with the aim to turn an area of agricultural land into an area of high biodiversity. The project has focused on creating ponds and wetlands and introducing pigs and ponies to start this process. Event Details: Date: Saturday the 3rd of October 2026 Time: 10:00 am - 4:00 pm Location: Wild House, Wilder Doddington at Doddington Hall, Main Street Doddington, Lincoln, LN6 4RU Group Size: Approx. 20 Food: Snacks, tea and coffee will be provided. Please bring a packed lunch! Getting there: Via Train: The closest train station is Lincoln. We will provide lifts from here to the site at 9:30am on Saturday morning, and drop everyone back to the station by 4:30pm that afternoon. Via Car: If you are able to drive to the site, please let us know in the order form as we will be trying to encourage car sharing wherever possible! Plenty of free parking is available in front of the Wild House. What3Words Meet Point: ///basics.kept.dent Accessibility: The site has rough, unsteady ground and nettles. It may also get muddy when we are around the ponds. There will be access to a toilet in the morning and over lunch time. The access to phone service is limited and there may be free roaming animals. We can offer travel reimbursement, so if you can send us receipts or proof of travel payment and your bank details, we will reimburse you as soon as possible.
