Let's sew with Abakhan! Create a dramatic pair of wide-leg palazzo trousers designed for evening wear using luxurious stretch fabrics such as velvet, jersey, or stretch lace. This class takes a simple wide-leg trouser pattern and elevates it into a striking statement piece perfect for special occasions. You will learn how to work with stretch fabrics, achieve a smooth and flattering drape, and construct a comfortable elasticated waist finish. If using stretch lace, you will also learn how to add a short stretch lining for comfort and coverage while maintaining the delicate look of the fabric. By the end of the class, you will have a beautifully finished pair of evening palazzo trousers and the confidence to work with stretch fabrics in more advanced garment projects. Skill level: Confident beginner to intermediate. Some sewing machine experience is recommended, especially with stretch fabrics. I specialised in Bridal and Aerial wear, so from satin to stretch. I decided during the lock down that it was time to shut up the studio and concentrate on my teaching.
